Goal The Charleston County Stoke Action Team is planning a Stroke-Fore-Stroke Weekend Expo of fun and education for Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8, 2007 to raise awareness for stroke prevention.

South Carolina is known throughout the United States for many positive things, which include its beautiful beaches, historic mansions and plantations, rich political traditions, and great weather.

On the other hand, there is something that South Carolina is a leader in that may be less well known. Unfortunately, we are leaders in something with devastating effects and that's stroke mortality.

South Carolina has led the nation in stroke mortality for the past 75 years. This is a staggering statistic that we want to change. Stroke impacts the whole family and to beat this health problem we need your help.

Bring the whole family out for a weekend of fun and learning while at the same time helping to stop this killer.

Craig Miller a stroke survivor experienced a stroke at 37. He and played golf the day before and ran three miles the morning of his stroke. He is passionate about doing something to prevent what happened to him from happening to others. Give us your support in our effort to have a healthier South Carolina. Bring the whole family!

We will continue with a free Stroke-Fore-Stroke Health Expo at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Life Center, 7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston SC. The day's event will feature interactive learning health sessions, skit, free screenings, (All fasting blood work available until 12 Noon), children's health village, vendors and more.
